Configure DNS and NTP services A Linux server provides name and time services on two lab links. Add a DNS server and an address record in Server Builder. Add a local NTP server to the same design and apply it to the Linux server. Query the DNS server and check that the record returns the intended address. A lookup for an unknown name returns no matching record. Ping the address from the record to verify that the destination is reachable. Configure the Cisco router to use the Linux server as its NTP source. Check the selected association and confirm that the router synchronizes. Take down the router link to the time source. The router loses synchronization while the time source is unreachable. Restore the link and check that the router selects the time source again. Check the clock status to confirm that synchronization has returned.
