Verify static NAT traffic and mappings The middle router translates traffic between the inside and outside networks. The outside router has no route back to the private source. Mark the inside and outside interfaces and add two static address mappings. Start a packet capture on the outside link, then send a ping from each inside source. Check the translated source in each request and the translated destination in the replies. Remove the first static mapping, clear active translations, and check both flows again. Save the configuration and reload the translating router. Check that the remaining mapping and its traffic still work after the reload.
