  1. Save the configurations before exporting a lab to another platform.

  2. Running and startup views help you check which changes are already saved.

  3. Save All writes the current configurations for every device in this lab.

  4. In My Labs, open the lab row menu and download the GNS3 project.

  5. The same menu can export an EVE-NG lab file.

  6. Choose CML to download the topology and device configurations as a YAML file.

  7. Open Import and choose the matching format for your downloaded file.

  8. Give the imported GNS3 lab a distinct name to keep the original easy to find.

  9. Open the new lab and check its two routers and their cable.

  10. Review the saved configuration to confirm that the router settings came across.

  11. Repeat the import using the EVE-NG file chooser.

  12. Give this copy its own name before importing it.

  13. File-based EVE-NG import warns that startup configurations are not restored.

  14. Check the imported devices and cable, then configure this EVE-NG copy after loading.

  15. Use the CML file chooser to import the downloaded YAML file.

  16. Open the CML copy and verify the devices, link, and saved settings.

  17. Before using an unfamiliar file, be ready to review any import warnings.

  18. This example contains a node definition that nuLAB does not support.

  19. The warning identifies the device that was replaced by an IOSv placeholder.

  20. A placeholder does not reproduce the original device or supply its vendor image.

  21. Keep the original lab, compare each imported copy, and review any warnings before practising.
